surface area box project
CCSS: 6.G.4
1. This assignment relates to the standard because in this project, we had to get a cereal box and then cut it. We had to measure each side and find the area of each part. When we do that, we have to add all the areas up and then you'll get the area of the whole cereal box.
2. Here are the following steps:
a. I got a cereal box and cut it.
b. I opened it, measured each side, and found the area of the top,bottom,sides front,and back.
c. Then, I found the surface area by adding the areas.
3. This assignment demonstrates that I'm able to cut up a cereal box and measure each side. Also, I'm able to understand all about area and surface area. I'm able to find the surface area of the whole cereal box.
4. I could have improved by making sure that my other cereal box has not been thrown away because I ended up using another cereal box.
5. I can apply this to other classes when I'm in high school and/or college because I'll be using surface area there but in more advanced. I'll use surface area for the math I'll learn in high school and college. Also, if I want to know how area something is, I'll need surface area to do what I need to do.
