pizza pi Project
Standards: 7.G.B.4
1. This assignment relates to the standard because this project was about finding areas for certain parts of the pizza. They include the total area of the whole pizza, the inside area, and the crust area. In order to figure out the area, we had to understand that the formula is A= PIE*RADIUS SQUARED. We had to also figure out the percent of the inside area of the pizza and the percent of the crust.
2. Here are the following steps it took me:
a. I filled in the performance task.
b. I got a poster board.
c. I wrote everything out on the board based on my performance task.
3. This project demonstrates that I understand how to find the area of a circle( for instance, like a pizza). It also demonstrates that I know how to figure out different areas from different parts of the pizza. I can also find the percent portions of the pizza so that I can graph it.
4. I could have improved on this project by making it more decorative and innovative. Also, I could have spent more time on it so that it can look neat and nice. I should have used varieties of colors to make the words shine up. Because, since I used pencil, it didn't look really creative.
5. I can apply this to the real world when I want to try to figure out the area and quantity of an object( like a pan). Then in that case, it'll help me find out how big or small the object is. So, this would probably effect me on knowing which item has more quantity and which one has less(which then tells us that they are both different).
