8-VA-HC-3.2 Compare, contrast, and analyze styles of art from a variety of times and places in Western and non-Western cultures.
1. This assignment relates to the standard because it is about making a black and white painting that mostly depicts mountains, nature, and animals. We had to paint mountains that overlap each other and a river. This is different from the Western art because we had to NOT draw any humans.
2. Here are the following steps:
a. I used a paint brush to mix it with watercolors.
b. I began to paint by first thinking about how I'll organize it.
c. I first painted the mountains and clouds.
d. Then I finally painted the river and the rabbit.
3. This assignment demonstrates that I'm able to make a nice painting of black and white pictures of mountains and trees. It tells that I can take my time to make it a masterpiece. Also, I'm able to use the brush proactively to make my painting look good.
4. I could have improved by making my rabbit look much better. I could have made it more realistic because it didn't really look that great. Also, I could have improved on making the river look as if it was heading toward the mountains. It is because it seems like it is flat and not that real.
5. I can apply this to the real world when I'm an adult by painting this type of artwork for an art museum. When it is being displayed, maybe it'll help the museum get more visitors to come.
