planetary debate
1. This assignment relates to the standards, Science and Engineering 7 and 8, because in this assignment, we were assigned a planet so that we can gather information about it. We had to find information about how this planet was able to sustain life as well as what things about our planet doesn't allow life. The reason why we needed this information was that so that we can compete with another group with another planet. We had to also come up with a device that solves a couple of problems of our machine so that when the other group says things about our planet not sustaining life. We needed to do have information on the opponents' planet and use that to say to them why their planet can't sustain life. If they have a device, we have to find some ways that contrasts their conditions in using the device.
2. One SEP that I have done well on was obtaining, evaluating, and communicating info. I have shown this ability because I was able to do research and find some information on the planets. I was able to find out key info on my planet as well as other planets. I also discussed information to my group, which is something I have done well on since I am able to discuss ideas to my group and share what I have, even though they didn't agree with (which was true).
3. One SEP I could have improved on MORE was getting into the argument. I have contributed to the argument, but I should have said more. This will help me in the future because it will teach to expand on my ideas when getting into a debate so that I can contribute to the team and have a chance to win over the debate.
4. I can apply this to the real world by knowing how to use evidence and facts to support my claim when I'm trying to convince someone either in general or at work. This relates to the planetary debate because we were had to use info about planets and support our planet. Also, this can teach me how to be supportive for my claim.
