native american regions presentation
5.1.1 Students describe the major pre-Columbian settlements, including the cliff dwellers and pueblo people of the desert Southwest, the American Indians of the Pacific Northwest, the nomadic nations of the Great Plains, and the woodland peoples east of the Mississippi River.
Describe how geography and climate influenced the way various nations lived and adjusted to the natural environment, including locations of villages, the distinct structures that they built, and how they obtained food, clothing, tools, and utensils.
1. This project meets this standard because in my role in the project, I had to talk about how the settlers in my region were able to grow things in certain weather conditions. For instance, when the weather is cold, the grass doesn't grow but otherwise, the grass grows.
2. One skill that I gained from this was finding the information. I can have advantage of this later on in life since in life, I have to get my facts right. So, this means that I have to know the right information from some source before talking about it or presenting it.
3. I could have improved on this project by being fluent when I presented. I should have went on and on instead of looking at the poster back and forth. This will help me later on in future works because if I have to present on something, I should make I contact ALL the time so that the audience will not think that I have to look back and forth.
4. I can apply this to the real world when I have to get my facts first before I talk about to someone. That way, they know that I'm telling a fact and that I am reliable since I went through a reliable source with true information. This can show them that I'm trustworthy and that they can trust me.
