pizza project reflection
7.EE.4a
7.G.B.4
1. This assignment relates to the standard because this project was about pizzas that are the greatest pizzas. It could either be a specialty pizza or a "Create Your Own" pizza. So, we had to see how much it costs plus the price per topping. Also, you need to know the size of the pizza so that you can tell the price. This was the first part. For the second part, you will need to use coupons. You will have to find the total price of a specific type of food and subtract the amount it discounts you by.
2. Here are the following steps:
a. I filled in the sheet with all the problems there.
b. I got a poster board and wrote down all my problems and answers on pieces of sheets.
c. I glued them on the board and I added some finishing touches with the coupons & pictures.
3. This assignment demonstrates that I understand how to use equations to represent costs of the pizzas. Also, I know how to use coupons and that I understand what the problems are asking me. It also demonstrates that I can decide which pizza will help you save more.
4. I could have improved by understanding what "double sausage" meant. Also, I could have read the problem carefully so that I could answer the question correctly. Decorating much more is another way I could have improved my work on this project.
5. I can apply this to the real world by applying what I know about coupons when I buy something. For instance, if I wanted to buy a bundle of notebooks, and I got a coupon that has a discount for a certain amount of money, I can save money and get those notebooks for a lower price. By comparing and contrasting two values, I will be able to choose the best item with the best value that meets my needs.
