1. This assignment relates to the standard 8.7.3 because the white people had slaves, which were the African Americans. Since we know that part, it could have led us to the Civil War since a lot of people didn't agree with slavery. For the physical environment of the whites and slaves, we know that slaves worked for them which can be in the farms, factories, the cotton gin, or possible servants blacksmiths, or cooks.
2. One skill that I have obtained was being able to gather information for the different sections of the brochure. I was also able to understand the information. Another skill that I have shown was giving the appropriate pictures for each section. Learning about the information could have been another skill since I have learned from some in the sections I have been doing( like for example, the cotton gin, the slave breaker Edward Covey, and also that they had other things to do when they didn't have any work).
3. I could have improved in this assignment by trying to get the genuine picture of Edward Covey. It has been hard for me to look for a picture of him on the internet. The internet showed many different pictures of the possible Edward Covey and I couldn't find the right one( even right now, I don't know if I do have the right picture of Edward Covey).
4. I can apply this to the real world by teaching others to not have any slaves. I could show them my brochure and tell them why. I could tell them that they had to go through many beatings and struggles and that they had to work for long periods of time in farms, factories,etc. To convince them deeper, I could tell them that if you were born a slave, what would you have to go through? You will have to go through what they had to go through.
