Harry potter vs. shakespeare statistics project
CCSS: 6.SP.4 & 6.SP.3c
1. This assignment relates to the standard because this assignment was about statistics. We had to use a dice for the Harry Potter and Shakespeare rounds. Then, I find the mean, median, and mode for each of them. Also, we had to give out tables for them and create a dot plot for it. Then, we had to be creative to make something innovative on the project.
2. Here are the following steps:
a. I first understood the concept of what we learned in class to be able to do the project.
b. I rolled the dice and then began to start.
c. I created tables for both of them.
d. I gave out the mean, median, and mode including the dot plots.
e. Finally, I decorated the project with colors, stars, and strips around the project that had words related to my project. Also, I put a jumping dice to look like as if it is being thrown and about to roll.
3. This assignment demonstrates that I'm to find the mean, median, and mode. Also, I was able to understand the concept of this project. I was able to make dot plots for them and be creative enough to make something for the project.
4. I could have improved by being more creative and trying to put more things that are really, really creative on my project.
5. I can apply this to the real world when I'm an adult, because I could use this knowledge for other math lessons in college. Also, I can use this in real life situations. For instance, in life, if I had to make a graph of something, I'll need to know which one was the most, which one the middle one, who is repeating, and the average of whole data.
