personal statement
In Rise Kohyang Middle School, I have done many things in order to be successful in my 8th grade year. For example, I have accomplished in my OTCU, reading counts and study island, and my community service. For OTCU, we were required to get 5 out of the 7 goals: ELA, Math, Science, History, Electives, reading counts, and 2 out of the 3 writing exams. For reading counts, we 8th graders have to get 8 books in order to get this goal. Study Island wasn't considered a goal required, but we had to complete some in order to go to trips and help you with your ELA and math classes. Community service was also something we had to do in order to put in our digital portfolios and for us to get a chance to volunteer and get and learn from certain experiences. I will now talk about how I accomplished all of these certain goals and later on why I deserve to promote.
For the first goal I will be talking about is the OTCU. For the OTCU, we had to make sure that we get on target by getting 5 of them. I have reached this goal by first of all, making sure that I pass all of my classes. I also passed my first 2 writing exams, but I am not sure of the 3rd one, but still, I am passing for that certain promotion goal. For my reading counts, I have 6 books, but I will soon try to get the rest of my 2 books. I then got all 8 books by June 8. This all shows that I have worked into getting all of my goals and being on target, by not being lazy and making sure I turn in all work to my teachers. Also, this will reflect on me going on to the next grade level.
Reading counts and study island were the other two goals that I have done. For reading counts, I have been working hard in reaching the books that I had to read. I have done many books, which included A Separate Peace, An American Plague, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Street Car Named Desire, Bruce Lee, and Oedipus the King. I still need two more books and I'm still working on them, but I will soon get them. But then, I got the last two books which were Ancient Greece and All Quiet on the Western Front. Doing study island was another thing that I have done. I haven't done 100% for math and algebra, but I have done 89% for math, 86% for algebra, and 100% for ELA. When doing study island, I was able to go on great trips and be on target for study island for each certain round of the year.
Now for my community service, I will be talking about what I have done and how I have achieved this goal. For my community service, I have volunteered at Charles H. Kim Elementary School and at the Islamic Center food pantry. At the elementary school, I have helped with tutoring younger kids. At the food pantry, I have helped with giving food to others who needed it. I have achieved this goal in Rise Kohyang Middle School since I have shown that I was able to help in certain places of the community and to also be able to get into the experience. To add on to that, I believe that when volunteering in these places, I am able to help others.
Overall, I have met certain goals in Rise. I have been able to be on target and get the goals for my OTCU do that I can promote and have good grades. Study island was another thing I have done(though I haven't got ALL 100% for them) to make sure that I'm caught up. Also, my community service was done at an elementary school and food pantry and I have helped others and technically just volunteered there. To finish off, I deserve to promote on to high school because I have been able to be on target. I also was able to complete all assigned work from my teachers and be able to get good grades on them. I have also reached my writing exam goal and reading counts goal, and received all of my goals. So, this all tells us what I have done in the year, how I have reached them, and why I deserve to move on.
Here are the following colleges I would possibly want to go to:
